Chris Brooks & The Silver City Boys
About Us

Chris Brooks & The Silver City Boys are a premier Minnesota-based Country Rock band. This high-energy, dynamic 5-piece with great harmonies mixes Texas and "Red Dirt Country" with Current Radio Hits and their spin on the Classics to keep the dance floor packed.

The set list includes original music as well as songs by artists such as: Dwight Yoakam, Johnny Cash, Dierks Bentley, Waylon Jennings, Jason Boland, Wade Bowen, Alabama, Emerson Drive, Gary Allan, Reckless Kelly, Steve Earle, Josh Turner, Jason Aldean, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Joe Nichols, Kevin Fowler, The Zac Brown Band, Eric Church, Chris Young and much more.

Chris began singing at an early age where many musicians get their start: the church. He credits his parents as his first early vocal coaches. He began performing and writing professionally at the age of 15 with a group called "The Premiers" who were featured in a number of commercials.

Chris' love for country music began when he received his first country record...yes, that means vinyl. That album was Kenny Rogers's "The Gambler". A love affair with country music began there and expanded as Chris listened to the country rock sounds of The Eagles and more as he accompanied his father on trips to break horses.

Chris fell in love with Texas "Red Dirt" Country Music when he attended Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. After moving home to Minnesota, Chris know he wanted to share his love for that sound in the North.

With a musical background deeply rooted in rock and country music, Chris has matured musically over the years with groups such as Candor, Mezzanine and most recently, The Mason Dixons. As a performer, Chris mixes an edgy baritone voice with warm, deep, bass vocals setting him apart from most other country singers.

A spin through Chris's iPod today will unveil his preference for the Texas Country and Americana singer-songwriters that he was exposed to while attending Texas Christian University. Chris would tell you his biggest musical influences are: Waylon Jennings, Roger Clyne, Will Hoge, Robert Earl Keen, Randy Travis, Chris Knight and Cody Canada.

Chris Brooks has shared the stage with country legend David Allan Coe, Mark Chesnutt, Sammy Kershaw, Reckless Kelly, Pat Green, Eli Young Band, Randy Houser, Trent Tomlinson, Whitey Morgan & The 78's, Troy Olsen, Two Tons of Steel and The Randy Rogers Band.

Now, why the "Silver City Boys"?  And just who are these guys?

St. Paul, MN is known as The Silver City and the band is based in the Twin Cities. Also, the "boys from Silver City" are mentioned in Chris' favorite Robert Earl Keen, Jr. song, "Feelin' Good Again".

The Silver City Boys are a mysterious group of outlaws.  They are wanted in 50 states and in Mexico.

Some say their long hair gives them their strength. Others say it's beer.

They play hard and then ride away.
